Bookhou

bookhouathome bag

I just bought myself this awesome little bag from 'bookhouathome' on Etsy.
I'm calling it an early mother's day present to myself.. That's allowed isn't it?

Kinfolk.

One perfect morning..

Look at what arrived on my doorstep yesterday.

Have you read Kinfolk? I do believe it has just become my favourite magazine. (Do you call it a magazine? It does not really feel right, it feels like a book that you will keep forever. One that you will put on the bookshelf so you can see it everyday and be careful not to bend the corners when you pick it up to read.. or is that just me?)

Did you know it is also available on iPad? (But it really is much nicer holding it in your hands and turning those smooth matt pages while sipping tea. Earl grey I think.)

A winner.. Me!

ohmabelPinwheel-Bed-550W

Last year I wrote a post about 'Oh Mabel!' A wonderful small Australian business that makes the most adorable organic bed linen I have ever seen.
I had been swooning over the sheet sets for some time and had convinced myself that there could not be a better time for me to indulge in some new sheets, when I WON a set!
I entered a giveaway over at 'Gallop Lifestyle' and won the yellow pinwheel sheet set.
I could not believe my luck!

'Oh Mabel!' bed linen is available online at 'Gallop Lifestyle' - a lovely online homewares store (their online shop stocks some really great products.. make sure you check it out).

Thank you so much to the girls at Gallop Lifestyle and Oh Mabel.

Amanda Blake print

amanda blake

In the latest issue of Frankie there are a few pages of paintings by Amanda Blake. I fell so in love with this painting when I saw it that I ordered a print from her shop straight away. I originally thought I could put it in Sophie's room but I am now thinking it might be a bit dark for a little kids room. What do you think?

Bubbles

It's really not..

Tom's little sister (who is a super trendy young designer) brought several bottles of this Champagne to Christmas.
I rarely drink alcohol (I think I drank enough in my uni days to make up for a lifetime of future abstinence) but I couldn't resist a glass of this Champagne.. I am such a sucker for pretty labels!

(Actually, I think 'Sparkling wine' is the correct term, but eh.)

Secret Santa

rob ryan plate

Last month Chantelle from Fat Mum Slim organised a 'social media secret santa'. It was such a great idea and I got the best gift ever.. a Rob Ryan plate that I had been dreaming about for some time.. I could not believe it when I saw it!
So thanks for organising Chantelle and thanks to my secret santa.

You can find the same lovely plate for sale at Lark.

Party time

invitations

It has taken us 4 years to realise that no one wants to go to a party the day after boxing day (Sophie's birthday). So this year we are having her party a month early.

I bought these gorgeous invitations and party bags from Poppies for Grace.

How cute are the lolly bags! I really love this brand, even if the name makes me sad.

Bling, bling

IMG_9777

When I met Tom I told him that if we got married I did not want a diamond engagement ring (I know.. crazy right?)
Luckily when we got engaged (a few months later!!) Tom decided that what I meant was "I would probably love a diamond ring, thanks very much!"

Tom chose the stones for this ring and then designed the ring himself and had it made. He did this all without me knowing a thing, so that when he proposed it was a complete surprise (the proposal and the ring).

Sometimes I still just sit and stare at it.

How gorgeous is this kids room? I love the cushions, the pillows, the draws, the suitcases, the old books and... everything.

(Tom's step-mum is in Bhutan for 5 weeks.. maybe she could bring me back two giant cushions!?)

You can see more photos of this room over at 'Baby Space'.
