Jiggity jig
Sometimes when Tom is at work I send him a message in the afternoon that just says "Jiggity?" and he replies with the time that he thinks he will be home from work that day. It started because I used to write "home again, home again, Jiggity Jig?" and somehow over the years it has just become "Jiggity?"
Anyways, we are now home again (home again, jiggity jig). We had a wonderful week up at the farm.
I was happy to be lying in a different bed for a week and Tom and Sophie had a ball getting up every morning to feed the horses and pottering about the farm during the day.
(Tom has a couple of weeks off work at the moment as he has just resigned and is starting a new job at the beginning of next month. It was a very difficult decision for him to make but we are hoping that it will turn out to be the right one.)
I spend the majority of my week at the farm with a crochet hook in my hand and had finished two baby blankets by the end of the week. I have really fallen in love with crochet.. I think because I find it soo much easier than knitting and so much quicker to produce something that is finished, although finishing something quickly is not really a priority for me at the moment! I do have quite a bit of time on my hands after all!

how sweet and sunshiney! I think yellow must be my favourite baby things colour.
What?! Nooooooo! You started to learn crochet at the same time as me and I can't even do a granny square yet - boooooo! I did manage to get the hang of plain blocks kind of like that gorgeous baby blanket you've got there but I tried to start on the 8 ply wool I had and it's all too hard :( Are you using 12 ply wool? I am afraid I am a crochet failure!
Your rug is gorgeous!! Clever you! I'm with Emma, just started crocheting and still doing granny squares and trying to finish a little rug, taking forever! So great you had a lovely week away with a nice change of scenery. Will you show us your other creations? Mel x
you guys are too cute! mark is changing jobs too, fancy that ;)
and I can see you have become a crochet master already. skills.
That photo of Sophie is beautiful! Xx
I dug out my never-used crochet hook last week in order to try and learn to use it....I just can't get it! it's too complicated - I could only manage to do the initial string bit! argh! ;)
glad you have mastered it!!
The picture of Sophie makes me want to laugh too! She is adorable. It's great to hear you had a nice week at the farm with family. Take care. xx
Hi Katie, I came across your blog a few days ago and have spent a bit of time reading through your journey. I lost my little boy Charlie at 19 weeks Easter 2011 so I was interested to read how you were going. We are trying to have a baby and have had three miscarriages including losing Charlie, the last being July 2011. The doctors don't know why and we were advised to just wait for six months for my body to recover we have and now I am not falling pregnant. I have faith that it is all in God's timing nut some days I still struggle. I am so happy that your pregnancy is going well and I will be popping in to visit often and will keep you in my prayers. All the best, Nellie xx
what a lovely little retreat !
Are you taking orders for those gorgeous blankets??? So glad you are as well as can be xx
I'm new to your blog, and I love reading along.......your farm trip looks like the perfect thing :) x
